Good evening!
All my life I have wondered why people of different ages act, feel and are treated differently. The main case: young versus old. I don't know about everyone else. But I always always raised to respect my 'elders'. I don't like hearing of old people being abused etc. But this isn't about my morals, this is about age supremacy. I find it quite annoying, when a perfectly intelligent teenager - young adult's opinion is not double-checked or appreciated. I've seen so many young people preaching about political views, and situations and everything that's debatable under the sun and they're not given a fair-chance or are looked over or even plagerised by older people for not having enough life experience. Or are believed incapable to make a wise judgement. I think these sparks have all gone off in my head as i've seen teenagers voice what they think only to be shut down by someone older who believes themself to be right, or supreme. It's almost bullying. Nonetheless, I saw a news show/report thing that was detailing how the legal voting age was considered being knocked back to 16/17. I was over-joyed at hearing that. But then the words of a grumpy, middle-aged politician saying that, that will never be the case for a long time. Which is sad really - I would love to have a say in who runs the country I live in, regardless of who I am, or my age. I'm sure If I have this opinion there are more people other than me that have it too. Ahh, well. What can you do? Wait out two more years, that's what i'll do! All in all, what i'm trying to say is. Why are the things you say and think only valid when you are aged?
